Psalm 4

ANSWER ME when I call, O God of my righteousness (uprightness, justice, and right standing with You)! You have freed me when I was hemmed in and enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me and hear my prayer.

Thank you God, for listening and answering my prayers. Help me to remember when I'm distressed that I can still can wrap up and rest in Your peace.

Does that sound good to anyone else right now??
Are any of you distressed?? Feeling hemmend in??

  1. I think sometimes my schedule (both work, family and my personal schedule) hem mr in, leaving me feeling stressed out. I'm a people pleaser by nature, and really hate letting people down.

What intrigues me is how easy it is to let those closest to me down. My husband, the boys, my devotional time all get squished if an acquaintance needs or wants something from me. I think I have justified it by saying that they will understand. Really? Will they? Don't they deserve my best too?

I love verse 3 where it talks about God setting aside his servant for Himself, and that He hears when His servant speaks. It reminds me again that He wants my time and attention. And it reminds me that when I've spent time with him, I am refreshed to tackle the busy schedule I have to keep. H

  2. So true Heidi!

Often we hem our family and time with God in around everything and everyone else that demands our time and not the other way around.

So have been there!! I can even believe at the time it is for ministry or being a real friend. I often think that Satan loves to use church commitments and other people in our lives (all good things) to break our fellowship with God, our spouses, and our children. We have to ask God for wisdom on where He really wants us to invest our time.

    But saying "NO" is hard.
