Our Mess!

Corrie Ten Boom writes, “Only Heaven will reveal the front side of God’s tapestry of our lives.” Right now, we can only see the back of the tapestry. It looks like a mess. Nothing makes sense. Colors are random. Knots are everywhere. There is no rhythm or pattern. That is what the backside of a tapestry looks like. But when that tapestry is completed and flipped over and hung out for all to see, the comments are no longer, “This does not make sense”, but rather, “Wow, how incredibly beautiful!” And this, I believe, is what Heaven will reveal.

  1. So many people think that things need to make sense to be believed. In a world that is so fact based, it is hard for some to have faith in something that they can't see. People question the how's and the why's of life and often, the answers they come up with don't make sense. I think that when God's plan for our lives are revealed, the knots start to undo themselves, the mess becomes beautiful and the pattern is finally evident. The tapestry can refer to heaven or it can refer to God's plan for our lives here on earth. My metaphorical tapestry was revealed the day I accepted the gift of salvation and really took the time to get to know who I was praying to.

  2. The night before Christmas( the one where the mouse wrecks the clock-ya know it??) was our family Christmas movie last night. We have to start now with our movie and story every night because we have so many! Anyway, The little mouse who was quite smart wrote a letter to Santa and told him he knew he was a fraud. This made Santa upset and the town was worried that Santa wouldn't come.
The father told his son only believing with your head was wrong. He needed to learn to believe with his heart!
There I was watching a little Christmas cartoon and got a reminder of such an important spirtual message :)
